Phyllis sees herself as a girl boss. She claims to have built up an impressive empire. She’s hoping this will impress Cane and get him to work with her on The Young and the Restless. But now her success has been called into question.
Built an Empire
Phyllis (Michelle Stafford) has been chasing down Cane (Billy Flynn) in the maze. She wants him to invest in one of her many business ideas she came up with. But the problem is, Phyllis doesn’t know what kind of business she wants to start. She just wants her hands on Cane’s billions. She’d be happy to hold a dollar, if she could. The black sheep of Genoa City claims to be self-made.
Y&R fans have questions. On one soap opera message board, an original poster posted the question, “Phyllis saying she built her career…What career?” Fans took to the message board to share their thoughts. Most argued that she has incredible hacking skills. Phyllis is tech-savvy, which is a must in any business.“Phyllis can handle herself and is quite the techie. Too bad she is intolerable, but Cane seemed interested. She hates Victor, which is a plus,” one user responded. Another fan joked, “If hating Victor is a plus for a job with Cane, he’d have a long line of candidates for employment!!”Hits and Misses
Fans will recall when Phyllis owned the Grande Phoenix hotel. She successfully launched the business by herself. It was later sold to Lily (Christel Khalil) and the Chancellor-Winters family. The hotel became overrun with crime, causing it to close down, but it was one of Phyllis’s most successful businesses
Phyllis was also involved in other ventures over the years. However, most of those were through Jabot and Newman Enterprises. She did co-fund a business called MVP with Victor (Eric Braeden) and Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott). Phyllis was also the co-CEO of Chancellor-Winters alongside her son, Daniel (Michael Graziadei). Unfortunately, that was short-lived.
Fans have been concerned about her. One user wrote, “Phyllis is unraveling, desperate, and getting a bit unhinged. She is also a very bad friend.” What are your thoughts on Phyllis’ business empire? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section.
