Paramount Global to unveil the world premiere of CBS’s new drama Boston Blue at MIPCOM Cannes.

MIPCOM CANNES and Paramount Global Content Distribution today announced that the world premiere of Boston Blue, the eagerly awaited universe expansion from the long-running top drama Blue Bloods, will be staged on the eve of this year’s MIPCOM CANNES, the world’s largest market for television and streaming content (13-16 October 2025). Lead and executive producer Donnie Wahlberg and star Sonequa Martin-Green will be in attendance.

Boston Blue sees Boston-born Wahlberg reprising his role as NYPD Detective Danny Reagan, who takes a position with the Boston Police Department and is paired with Detective Lena Silver (Martin-Green), the eldest daughter of a prominent law enforcement family. As Reagan settles into his new city, he also hopes to reconnect with his younger son, Sean (Mika Amonsen), who is beginning his own police career in Boston.

The pre-opening night screening will take place on Sunday 12 October at 18.00 in the Grand Auditorium of the Palais des Festivals and will be open to all delegates and will be followed by a q and a with Wahlberg and Martin-Green. Distributed by Paramount Global Content Distribution, the global premiere comes ahead of the show’s debut on CBS later that week on Friday October 17 in the United States.

The premiere episode that will be screened also features Bridget Moynahan, reprising her role as Danny’s sister Erin Reagan for a special guest appearance. Moynahan will also direct a later episode in the debut series.

Boston Blue is produced by CBS Studios and Jerry Bruckheimer Television. Brandon Sonnier and Brandon Margolis are Showrunnners and Executive Producers. Jerry Bruckheimer, KristieAnne Reed and Wahlberg also serve as Executive Producers.

The new series also introduces the Silver family, comprised of Boston District Attorney Mae Silver (Gloria Reuben), Boston PD Detective Lena Silver, Police Superintendent Sarah Silver (Maggie Lawson), rookie cop Jonah Silver (Marcus Scribner) and renowned Baptist pastor Reverend Edwin Peters (Ernie Hudson).

‘We are excited to bring Donnie Wahlberg and Sonequa Martin-Green to Cannes to help us unveil the first episode of Boston Blue, the next chapter in the Blue Bloods universe, to global media executives at the Opening Night World Premiere at MIPCOM Cannes’, says Lisa Kramer, President, International Content Licensing, Paramount Global Content Distribution. ‘CBS Studios continues to lead in creating iconic procedurals with which audiences around the globe connect and we look forward to work with international licensees to build out the Blue Bloods universe’.

‘Interest in the Reagan family and the Blue Bloods universe is deep seated and truly global’, said Lucy Smith, Director of MIPCOM CANNES and MIP JUNIOR’…making this next chapter, led by the brilliant Donnie Wahlberg with its new setting, characters and stories a perfect premiere on the eve of MIPCOM CANNES this year’.

MIPCOM CANNES is the world’s biggest and most impactful television and streaming content market, attracting over 10 500 delegates from more than 100 countries last year and whose week-long programme helps define the TV industry year.
