Danny & Baez’s Worrying Romance Status In Boston Blue Gets A Surprise Update From Donnie Wahlberg

The official Boston Blue Instagram page posted a video of Wahlberg teasing the show and revealing the Blue Bloods spinoff’s release date. While the video itself didn’t mention Baez, Wahlberg responded to a comment on the post mentioning his former onscreen partner. It read, “So I guess Danny didn’t end up with Baez?” The actor replied, “How about, wait and see?”

What Donnie Wahlberg’s Reply Means For Baez’s Involvement In Boston Blue

Marisa Ramirez Could Still Join The Cast

When CBS confirmed the Boston Blue cast, Ramirez was nowhere to be seen. However, given Wahlberg’s comments, perhaps we shouldn’t count her out of the Blue Bloods offshoot just yet. Like Wahlberg said, we will have to wait and see if Ramirez reprises her role as Baez in Boston Blue, even if it’s only as a guest star.

If Baez returns to the Blue Bloods universe, the spinoff could continue exploring her and Danny’s budding romance. Yes, he moved away. But, Boston isn’t too far from New York, and perhaps Baez could move closer to Danny. Whatever the case, Baez’s possible appearance in Boston Blue opens the door for her and Danny to pick up where they left off.

Baez’s Return Would Be Exciting

Blue Bloods Baez smiles at Danny in the squad room

Neither CBS nor Wahlberg has confirmed that Ramirez is reprising her role as Baez in Boston Blue. Nevertheless, her return would be exciting. Blue Bloods never had the chance to dive deep into Danny and Baez’s relationship. If Baez joins the spinoff’s cast (even if only as a guest star), she and Danny could finally have a chance to be a couple.

Based on how Blue Bloods ended, Baez visiting Danny in Boston is a plausible notion.

Or Boston Blue could go down the opposite route and stop things between Danny and Baez before they even really began. It’s also possible that Baez will never cross over to the spinoff. Walhberg’s comments didn’t guarantee her return, after all.

It wouldn’t make much sense for Wahlberg to reply to the Instagram comment, though, if Baez weren’t going to appear in Boston Blue at some point. Based on how Blue Bloods ended, Baez visiting Danny in Boston is a plausible notion. Plus, it doesn’t seem like Ramirez has any projects in the works. So, theoretically, Baez could
