Coronation Street star Joe Layton – who portrays Mick Michaelis – might be eyeing up a stint in a major Hollywood franchise.
Joe burst onto the cobbles earlier this year as brutal thug Mick alongside his spouse Lou (Farrel Hegarty). Branded as “nightmare neighbours,” the duo wasted no time stirring up trouble.
Following plenty of chaos in May, Mick ended up savagely murdering beloved character Craig Tinker (Colson Smith) during a shocking drunken assault. It emerged that Mick frequently mistreated Lou as well.
Following Craig’s demise, Mick was imprisoned. Yet this week, events took a dramatically intense twist when he managed to escape.

Whilst attempting to locate his offspring, Mick stabbed Kit Green (Jacob Roberts) before being apprehended once more and returned to custody, reports Leicestershire Live.
With Mick’s departure approaching, it appears a spell on a competing soap could be imminent for actor Joe. According to exclusive odds from Betway, the bookmakers have priced Joe at 3/1 to join another soap: EastEnders.
Joe also carries 5/1 odds to secure a part on Channel 4’s Hollyoaks. Regarding reality programmes, an I’m A Celeb appearance has 8/1 odds, followed by Strictly Come Dancing at 10/1.

However, it’s not merely television work that might await Joe. The bookmakers believe he could secure a part in a Hollywood franchise.
Joe presently holds 16/1 odds to feature in a Marvel film, and 50/1 odds to potentially become the next James Bond. Mike Reading, spokesperson at Betway, has shared some intriguing odds on Joe Layton’s next career move following his stint as the menacing Mick Michaelis on Coronation Street.
He further added that Layton’s portrayal of a character with a violent history and a dramatic prison break seems tailor-made for the intense drama of Albert Square: “Having made headlines for his character’s violent past and dramatic prison escape, Layton looks ready-made for the gritty world of Albert Square – pub bust-ups, family feuds, and a shady market hustle would suit him down to the ground!”.
Reading also speculated on other possible directions for Layton’s career, including reality TV and a return to the superhero genre: “Other potential next moves include jetting out to the jungle for I’m a Celeb (8/1), joining Strictly (10/1), or even a Marvel comeback (16/1) after previously starring in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., but it’s East London where punters think he’s most likely to land next.”
